Jeffrey Allen Fields
Cedar Rapids
Jeff took his final Harley ride to heaven on January 3rd. For the first time ever, he rode without us worrying about an accident—mostly because we’re pretty sure heaven has excellent traffic control. We know he’s thrilled to be reunited with his wife, Willie, along with many beloved pets who definitely heard the Harley coming before he arrived.
Jeff loved his Harley and enjoyed riding it all over the Midwest, especially to Sturgis and other bike rallies—though you’d never know it, since he somehow managed to take absolutely zero photos of any of these adventures.
Jeff and Willie were also legendary for their Halloween parties, featuring scarecrow building, pumpkin carving, and a healthy supply of Budweiser’s and Chardonnay. It was the kind of party where everyone had a great time and left with straw in their shoes.
Jeff was born Jan. 14th, 1956. He worked at the City of Cedar Rapids for many years for the Streets Department. He also joined the Navy Reserves as Seabee for 4 years.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews, stepson and stepdaughter, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by wife Willia Lee (Willie), parents Roy and Nellie Fields, brothers Melvin Christopherson and John Fields, and sisters LaDonna Carroll and Joyce Lefebure.
Special thanks to Winslow for taking care of our cranky and inappropriate funny guy and Mercy ED and ICU for your compassion at the end of his life. Funeral arrangements by Teahan Funeral home.
Celebration of life will be held at Bully’s in Center Point, IA on Jan 24th from 1– 4 p.m.
