Final Salute

Beech Island, SC – Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Robert Golden, Sr., 77, entered into rest March 28, 2026, will be conducted Wednesday morning, April 1st, at 11 o’clock in the Historic First Baptist Church of Beech Island. Rev. Greg Williams and Rev. Frank Barker officiating. Internment will follow in the Historic First Baptist Church of Beech Island Cemetery; veteran’s honors will be rendered by the United States Navy and the Jesse C. Lynch American Legion Post 71. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, March 31st from 5 until 7 o’clock.

Kenneth was a lifelong resident of Beech Island, SC and learned to farm as teenager where he gained the knowledge about tractors that earned him a spot in the Navy Seabees as a heavy equipment operator. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran.

He began a career in power plant operations with SCE&G at the Urquhart Plant in Beech Island, SC. Kenneth retired after 37 years to spend more time being a papa to his grandchildren. He was a devoted Christian and a member of the Historic First Baptist Church of Beech Island, and he loved his church like his family.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Marion Hanley Golden and Charlotte Elizabeth “Lib” McElmurray Golden; his siblings, Christopher Bruce Golden, Leland Vance Golden, Parker Sullivan Golden, John Shaw Golden and Sandra Golden Rich. Surviving members of the family left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Linda Snider Golden; his children, Kristina Renee Golden, Kimberly Golden Corley (Adam) and Kenneth Robert “Robbie” Golden, Jr. (Erika); his brothers, Marion Hanley “Buck” Golden, Jr. (Wanda), James “Rico” Merle Golden and Joseph Lee Golden (Sarah); Eight grandchildren, Lee, Shelby, Sarah, Kayla, Blake, Hannah, Addison and Kendall; Twelve Great-grandchildren, Rylee, Weston, Elliott, Bryker, Reed, Cooper, Kayson, Baylor, Carter June, Wrenlee, Charlotte ” Charlee”, and Presley.

Pallbearers will be Bo Golden, Kenneth Golden, Chris Golden, Trevor Boan, Austin Archer, Cooper Berryhill, Will Snider, Adam Corley, and Nolan McElmurray. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Jesse C. Lynch American Legion Post 71.
