Edward was a proud United States Navy veteran whose service to his country remained one of the defining honors of his life. Serving from 1950 until 1954 as a Seabee plumber, he was stationed in Guam, Korea, and Japan, carrying out his duties with dedication, skill, and quiet strength. Following his military service, Edward continued his lifelong commitment to fellow veterans by joining the Reading VFW Post 5711 in 1956, where he remained an active and respected member for decades. His pride in serving his country never faded, and in 2016 he was deeply honored to serve as the Assistant Grand Marshal.
Beyond his years of service, Edward found great joy on the golf course. He loved the game and often treasured the camaraderie and peaceful moments it brought him. One of his proudest personal accomplishments came in July of 2008, when he excitedly achieved his first hole-in-one, a memory he carried with great pride and happiness. Edward will be remembered for his patriotism, loyalty, and the genuine pride he took in both his service and the life he built afterward.
