Final Salute

Mr. John Wesley Bookheimer, age 60, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.

John was born November 17, 1965 in McConnellsburg, PA, the son of the late Larry Timbrook and the late Barbara Thompson Timbrook. He proudly served his country in both the United States Navy as a Seabees and the United States Army. A devoted Christian, John attended Flat Rock Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. John will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his country, and his steadfast faith.

He is survived by his daughter, Madison Bookheimer of Carrollton; his beloved grand dog, Boone; sisters, Cheryl Rodriguez of Abilene, TX, Beth Bietz of Abilene, TX, and April Sleaster of Bedford, PA; brother, Richard Bookheimer of Rawlings, MD; and numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Bookheimer.

A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Flat Rock Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Brown officiating. Military Honors will be provided by The United Staes Navy Honor Guard. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall where family and friends are invited to gather, enjoy a meal and share memories of John.

Inurnment will follow in Glenn Memorial at a later date.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Flat Rock Baptist Church.
