It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Samuel Boyce Williams, a cherished husband, devoted father, and beloved Papa. Sam departed this life on June 8, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and unwavering dedication.

Born in Greer, South Carolina, on May 20, 1948, to the late Samuel Harry and Octavia Smith Williams, he lived a life that reflected his generous spirit and genuine love for those around him.

After graduating from high school and receiving an associate’s degree, Sam proudly served his country honorably in the United States Navy, notably as part of the Naval Construction Battalion, affectionately known as the Navy Seabees.

Sam was a dedicated Pricing Manager in the HVAC industry, serving the renowned General Wholesale Distributors, where his commitment and work ethic were widely respected.

However, his true legacy went far beyond his professional accomplishments; Sam was a man of the community, known for his generosity and spirit of service often seen cutting grass not just in his own yard, but also volunteering to maintain the lawns of his neighbors ensuring their yards remained beautifully tended. His passion for helping others was evident in every thoughtful deed. Sam was also a Shriner.

Known for his love of fishing, Sam would often spend tranquil days by the water, hoping to catch carp and catfish. He was also a dedicated member of the Monday night bowling league at Wade Hampton Lanes, where he formed lasting friendships and shared countless moments of joy.

Above all, Sam was a family man, cherished by his loving wife, Sara Ann Williams. Their love story began when Ann’s coworker introduced them as pen pals while Samuel was stationed in Vietnam. What began as a simple correspondence blossomed into a deep and everlasting bond. They were united in marriage in November of 1972, celebrating over 53 beautiful years together of unwavering partnership, raising a family and creating countless memories filled with love and laughter.

His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loving wife, Ann; their two sons, Keith, and wife, Casey, and Kevin, and wife, Jennifer; five adoring grandchildren, Ansley, Brayden, Bennett, Madelyn, and Emeli Jane; and his pup, Scout.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Williams.

A visitation will be held Monday, June 15, 2026, from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park with full Military Honors.
