Final Salute

Denys Sheridan Thompson, 77, of Fayetteville, NY, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026.
Born on May 10, 1949, to Barbara and Allen Thompson, Denys graduated from Onondaga Hill High School and went on to enlist in the United States Navy Seabees. He served with honor, including a tour in Vietnam, and retired as Senior Chief in 2009.
Those who knew Denys will remember him for his integrity, work ethic, humility, and strength. He had a lifelong gift for tinkering, building, and fixing things, and he brought that same dedication to everything he did – to his successful career as a master plumber and President of Woodcock & Armani Mechanical Contractors, and above all, to his family.
Denys will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Kristen Szozda, Jamie Thompson, Kimberly Leubner, Amanda Dorsey, and Matthew Thompson; and by his grandchildren, Alex, Steven, Benjamin, Noah, Asher, Aria, Lily, Grayson, Charlotte, Everett, and Reagan.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for Wednesday, July 8. Private interment will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery with military honors.
