Final Salute

David Allen Kleckner, age 90, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on July 31, 2026, in Biloxi, Mississippi. He passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

David proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring as a Chief Boatswain’s Mate (BMCS) after a distinguished military career. A proud Vietnam veteran, he completed three tours of duty and was the recipient of numerous military honors, including the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Antarctica Service Medal, and the Expert Rifle Medal (M16).

Following his military service, David continued his strong work ethic with Ingalls Shipbuilding, where he retired as a pipe stacker.

David was a devoted Christian whose faith guided his life. He enjoyed cheering on the Atlanta Braves, the New Orleans Saints, and Notre Dame football. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, Chester Kleckner; his mother, Laura Birch Kleckner; his son, Tod Kleckner; his sisters, Thelma McKendrick and Patricia Hemphill; his brothers, Robert Kleckner, James Kleckner, Thomas Kleckner, and Norman Kleckner; and his wives, Frances Wright Kleckner and Vivian Clark Kleckner.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Kleckner; his stepdaughter, Lisa Holleman (Tim); along with many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2026, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS 39503. A funeral service will follow at 9:30 a.m. Interment with United States Navy Honors will take place at 11:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
