Final Salute

Gary D. Parish passed away August 4, 2026 in his home surrounded by his family.

Gary was born October 26, 1943 in Eureka, California to Pat and Anita Parrish. He was the oldest of three children. Gary graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1961. He proudly served in the US Navy as a SeaBee and a Utilities Service Mechanic from 1967 to 1969.

He married Kathleen Ann Condon in 1977 and together they built a family with their three boys. After 13 years of marriage, they divorced.

Gary worked as a welder pipefitter for the local union 648. He worked for them for his entire career until retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and frequenting his favorite watering hole with his friends.

He has survived by his sister, whom he loved till the end, Sherri (Doug) Hook; his three sons, Garth, Kevin and Michael (Lynn); his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Stacia, Chance, Braxton and Olivia; along was several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and some very close friends down at the Post.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Frank (Lynn).

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Joy Taylor, our nurse Chris, who did a phenomenal job, the entire Symbii team that made it possible for Gary to remain in his home. Thanks to Hawker Funeral Home for final services.

Friends and family will gather at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2026 at Hawker Funeral Home, before proceeding at 2:00 p.m. to the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Blackfoot, where military honors and interment will take place.
