Kenneth S. Dolph, 102, of Lake Waynewood, Lake Ariel, died Monday evening at Allied Terrace following an illness. His wife is the former Johanna Snider.

Born August 26, 1923, in Scranton, he was the son of the late Kenneth Wilson and Helen (Seibel) Dolph.

Ken was a veteran of the US Navy Seabees serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He received the Purple Heart award for Injuries sustained while serving.

A graduate of the Scranton School system and Lafayette College, Ken devoted his career to advancing industrial growth in the region, serving for many years as Executive Director of the Lackawanna County Industrial Development Authority.

Ken was devoted to his community. He took great pride in his affiliations with numerous economic development organizations. Ken supported veterans through activities such as Armed Forces Week, and he fostered individual opportunity through his work with Family Services of Lackawanna County.

He was a longtime member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Scranton.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons: John K. Dolph and wife Andrea of Strafford, PA, and Mark W. Dolph of Scranton; six grandchildren: Michele Vincent and husband Shawn, Aurora Dolph, Wilson F. Dolph and wife Erika, Noah Dolph, and wife Jessica, Arleigh Dolph and wife Kerry Hohenstein, and Emelyn Dolph; six great-grandchildren: Connelly Vincent, Silas Vincent, Eloise Dolph, Weston Dolph, Brynn Bruner, Max Bruner; and nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his son Robert S. Dolph; his brother John B. Dolph; and his first wife, Marylou Snyder Dolph.

A memorial gathering will be conducted privately.

Interment will be conducted at Abington Hills Cemetery, S. Abington Twp. PA
