January 16, 1940 – August 17, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Jesus S. Meraz Jr, who passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, at the age of 86.
He was a proud Navy Seabee, dedicating an incredible 35 years of his life to serving his country through both active duty and the Navy Reserve. His commitment to service was a source of great pride, and his legacy of dedication, strength, and honor will live on in all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Graciela, his daughter, Lillian, and her husband, Joe; and his two cherished granddaughters, Josefine and Cyan.
To his family, he was so much more than a Navy Seabee. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather whose presence, love, laughter and guidance will be deeply missed. The memories he created and the lessons he passed down will remain in our hearts forever.
Though we mourn his passing, we are grateful for the years we were blessed to have him with us. His life was one of service, devotion, and love, and his memory will continue to live on through his family.
Fair winds and following seas, Dad. You served your country with honor, and you will be forever loved and missed.
A Graveside Service With Military Honors will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906, on September 8, 2026, at 10:00 am.
