GERALD DUANE PAPKE
December 10, 1940 ˜ September 5, 2026
Gerald Papke passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in North Dakota and raised on a farm, Gerald carried the values of hard work, perseverance, and devotion to family throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Seabee. Following his military service, Gerald built a successful career with Alcoa Aluminum, where he worked as a supervisor. His career included four years in Brazil, where he contributed to the startup and operation of an aluminum plant. After retiring early, Gerald returned to his home in Woodland, Washington. Gerald found great joy in fishing, hunting as well as tending to flower and vegetable gardens, listening to classic country music, and spending time with those he loved most. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, wisdom, and deep love for his family. Gerald was first married to Katherine for 56 years, and during her decline, wholeheartedly provided and cared for her to the very end. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn; his caring daughter, Kelley; his dedicated son, Jeff; loyal son, Tom; several grandchildren; sister, Sandy; and dog, Dooger. Jerry’s humor, wit, wisdom, and unwavering love of family will be deeply and forever missed. Jerry’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
