Edward Marencik, age 86, of West Nyack, New York, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026.
Born in New York City on Saturday, June 15, 1940, to the late Stephen and Rose Marencik, Edward lived a life defined by dedication, craftsmanship, and a deep love for his family. He served his country as a SeaBee in the United States Navy from August 29, 1962, until his honorable discharge on July 23, 1964, continuing his service in the Naval Reserves until March 20, 1967.
Following his military service, Edward dedicated his working years to his career as a skilled Carpenter. He lived by the timeless wisdom to “Measure twice, cut once”-a philosophy that reflected the care, precision, and thoughtfulness he brought to everything he did.
Edward found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved cooking, watching the Mets, reading, tackling puzzles, and working on carpentry projects. He cherished the serenity of Blue Mountain Lake, shared many laughs with neighbors during lawn mower races, and filled his life with music. Above all else, Edward loved and cherished spending time with his family.
He is reunited in heaven with his first-born daughter, Elena; his parents, Stephen and Rose Marencik; his grandmother, Elizabeth; and his sister, Diane Zaleski.
Edward’s legacy of love lives on through his survivors:
Louise, the love of his life and his devoted wife of 60 years.
His son, Stephen, and daughter-in-law, Meghan.
His daughter, Denise, and son-in-law, Michael.
His four cherished grandchildren: Anthony, Elena, Colin, and Sarah
