William (Bill) Francis Ryan died peacefully at his home in Rockport on October 3, 2026, surrounded by family.
Bill was born in New Bedford, MA to William and Mary Singler Ryan and raised in Dorchester, MA. He joined the Navy and served proudly as a SeaBee and on submarines for 13 years. After the service, he worked as an electrician for NYNEX before retiring. An avid reader, he enjoyed poker and spending time with his family. Playing and watching ice hockey were passions. He was a member of St. Paul’s Masonic Lodge in Rockport for more than 30 years. He took a great deal of comfort from his lifelong Catholic faith and was a long-time parishioner at Our Lady of Good Hope in Camden.
He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Clare Ryan Stahl and Mary Ryan Wagner, and his much-loved dog Rascal.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Lorraine Arcaro Ryan, his daughter Victoria, and his sons Timothy and Michael.
