Date of passing 03/17/2023

Stanley G. Schaffer Sr., 91, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, March 17, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Pearl F. (Kulp) Schaffer, who passed away on September 17, 2017. Together they shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Limeport, PA he was the son of the late William B. and Beulah (Schmoyer) Schaffer. Stanley was a graduate of Northampton High School-Class of 1949. He served proudly as a Seabee in the United States Navy during the Korean War stationed in Saipan. Stanley was a hard worker and an entrepreneur, owning numerous businesses in his lifetime, varying from hardwood flooring to construction. Stanley and Pearl relocated to Reading in 1977, where he became co-owner of the Temple Car Wash. His last employment was with the County of Berks as jury supervisor, where he retired from in 2001. Stanley and Pearl loved cruises and the many trips with the Blandon Senior Citizens, which they were active members. Stanley loved many things, but most important was his family. He was a man with a great sense of humor, which made him loved by many. Stanley is survived by his daughters, Debra L. Hall, wife of Glenn, of Florida, and Cathy L. Mitchell wife of Steven, of Reading; and his daughter in law, Sheryl Schaffer, Walnutport, PA. Also surviving are his six grandchildren: Heather, Holly, Krissi, Jaime, Chad, and Michael; and his 17 great grandchildren. Stanley is predeceased by his son Stanley G. Schaffer Jr. and his brother Elmer Schaffer. We will always carry your memory in our hearts. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Compassus of Hamburg, PA. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) at https://www.dav.org.
