Everett Ray Rigsby Jr.

December 3, 1948 – July 13, 2021

Everett Ray Rigsby Jr., 72, of Hickory, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 13, 2021.

Born Dec. 3, 1948, he was the son of the late Everett Ray Rigsby Sr. and Juanita Flowers Rigsby. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, who served as a Naval Seabee immediately following graduation from high school. After his discharge from the Navy, he worked in cabinetry until health conditions forced him into retirement. He enjoyed working on old cars and old motorcycles with his friends. Everett always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye and he will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Everett was preceded in death by a sister, Laila Rigsby Federico.

He is survived by his brother, Henry D. Rigsby; brother-in-law, Kenneth Federico Sr.; nephew, Kenneth Federico Jr. and wife, Melissa, and their children, Natasha, Joshua and Zachariah; niece, Angela Federico Harris and husband, Curtis, and their children, Taylor McNulty and her husband, Ben, and their children, Andrew, Madilynn, Madi Fulkerson and husband, SPC Justin.

A celebration of life service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home Friday, July 16, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jan Lovelace officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home, prior to the service.

In lieu of flower, memorials may be made to the American Legion #48 in Everett’s name.
