Final Salute

Andrew J. Donohoe, 47, passed away at Beverly Hospital following a brief illness on Monday, November 6, 2017.

Born in Winchester on September 28, 1970, he was the son of Ann B. (Hamilton) Donohoe and the late Gerald J. Donohoe Sr.

Andrew was raised and educated in Reading and attended Reading schools, as well as Austin Preparatory School.

Andrew served our country with the United States Navy during the Gulf War and was honorably discharged.

He was a SeaBee, United States Naval Construction Battalion, and had been deployed during Desert Shield and Desert Storm on U.S.S. Enterprise.

Andrew had been a member of the V.F.W Post 1093 in Ipswich and a former commander.

He enjoyed golfing and boating, and especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Ann, he is survived by his siblings: Gerald Donohoe Jr. of Newbury, Maureen and Jerry Giuliano of North Reading, Sheila Adams of Rowley, Leslie and Brian Harding of Rowley, and Kelly and Stephen Harney of Canton; and thirteen nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, Gerald, he was predeceased by his brother, Derek Donohoe.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017, in Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich.

Burial with military honors will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017, in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main Street, Ipswich. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
