Final Salute

A Celebration Remembering the Life of Prophet Jerome Vincent, 60, of Anniston, Alabama, will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Anniston City Meeting Center with Pastor Brenda Wilson officiating. Interment will commence immediately following the services in Maple Grove Cemetery in Anniston, Alabama. A public viewing for Prophet Vincent will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home and Crematory-Talladega. On December 4, 1961 in Anniston, Alabama, the late David and Louneal Vincent was blessed with a son who was given the name Jerome Vincent. There is no doubt Jerome knew the Lord when he confessed Christ at an early age and united with Westview Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Ollie English, Sr. Later in life Jerome became a part of the Wings of An Eagle Outreach Ministry under the leadership of his sister, Pastor Brenda Wilson. His faith in God would later lead him to become licensed as a minister of the Gospel. Jerome continued serving the Lord and working in his vineyard as he became Prophet Jerome Vincent and the founder of Family Love Ministry. He received his formal education in the Calhoun County School System where he attended Thankful Elementary School in Anniston, Alabama and was a graduate of Anniston High School Class of 1980. Upon completing his formal education, Jerome immediately decided to serve his country by enlisting in the US Navy on May 23, 1980. While serving his country, Jerome was destined and determined furthered his education and training in several areas including Instructor Training, Navy Drug and Alcohol Training, Seabee Chief Petty Officer Management, Water Well Drilling, Navy Recruiting Orientation, Advance Equipment Operator Training, and Navy Leadership Development for Leading Petty Officers. As a result of his dedication, Jerome was honored to be the recipient of several medals, decorations, badges, citations and campaign ribbons including, Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Seabee Combat Warfare insignis, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Navy “E” Ribbon, Navy recruiting Service ribbon, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Gold Wreath for Recruiting Excellence, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon and Meritorious Unit Commendation. After the course of 22 years of service, devotion and dedication to his country, Jerome felt it was time to retire and enjoy the civilian life. Once retiring, he made Douglasville, Georgia his home and became employed with Bank of America as a mortgage loan officer for 7 years before relocating to his hometown of Anniston, Alabama. Jerome was a very loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, and nephew who loved his family. Although there is now a void in the family, it will be filled with love, patience, prayer, hope, positivity, and comfort through the Grace of God. We could never forget the impact Jerome has left on our lives with his unshakable faith and the vibrant smile and personality he always had. He was an absolute joy to be around and was well on his way to becoming the author of his first book titled “Brown Shoes”, which will be published in the near future. Before his passing, Jerome stated he was told by God he would be preaching and teaching his word in a pair of brown shoes. We know he is walking all over Heaven in those brown shoes. Jerome will truly be missed immensely by all the hearts he has touched and lives he has encountered on his 60 years journey all over the world. On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, Prophet Jerome Vincent traded his labor for eternal rest when he received his Master’s call while surrounded by loved ones under the care of Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama. He was welcomed home by his parents, Johnson and Louneal McCoy, Jr. and David Vincent; brother, David Earl Vincent; stepbrother, John C. McCoy; and sister, Cynthia White. Prophet Jerome Vincent leaves to cherish his beloved memories five sons, Rolano (Shamekia) Vincent of Anniston, Alabama, Cortez (Takara) Griffin of Lithia Springs, Georgia, Justin Vincent of Columbus, Ohio, Jerome Vincent, Jr. and Bryant Gill, Jr. of Roswell, Georgia; grandchildren, Kiala Johnson, Iman Vincent, Iyana Vincent, Jamorie Griffin, A’Nyla Griffin, Addryanna Turner, Allen Turner, Asia Turner and Ca’Lani Gill; great-grandchildren, Kyson King and Kehlani Bush; four sisters; Willie (Ollie) English, Jr., Debra Vincent, Brenda (Kenneth) Wilson and Felicia Miller all of Anniston, Alabama; two brothers, Daryl Miller and Byron (Tracy) Pyles, both of Anniston, Alabama; special aunt, Dorothy R.
