James A. Roberts Obituary

Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on August 24th, 2018.

He was born December 21st, 1931 in Marmaduke, Arkansas to James A. Roberts Sr. and Pauline Looney Roberts.

Married Jane Hase on September 5th, 1953 in San Francisco, CA. James was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a Seabee in the Naval Reserve for 21 years, retiring in 1991.

He was a Journeyman Molder working for May Foundry, American Foundry and Custom Industries. He also worked for Kennecott Copper Company and for the Tooele Army Depot from which he retired.

Dad enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren supporting and coaching them in various sports.
During his younger years he was a Golden Glove Boxer. Dad gave it a good fight until the end.

Survived by his three sons and three daughters Ray (Sanda), Roxana (Mike, deceased) Green, John (Corrie), Paul, Cindy (Brent) Smith, Tina (Chris) Pollock; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and sisters Martha Jean Anderson, Aniece Hernandez of Oklahoma City.

Preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother Billy Whayne; sisters Mary Elizabeth Trammel, Diane Hernandez; and son-in-law.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 30th at 11:00 AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.).
Friends may call one hour prior to services. Dad was all about comfort, so please come as you are.
