William Robert “Bill” Holland, Jr. Obituary

Mr. William Robert “Bill” Holland Jr., 84, passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018 at his residence in Salisbury.

Born Aug. 3, 1934 in Amsterdam, N.Y., he was the son of the late William Robert Holland Sr. and Blanche Bell Becker Holland.

Mr. Holland was educated in the Amsterdam, N.Y. schools and was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from the Navy Reserve. He was a heavy equipment operator for Dan’s Excavation Services in Johnstown, N.Y. before retiring.

Mr. Holland was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and was a life member of the American Legion.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Beatrice Langlois Holland; daughters, TerryLee Bjorklund and husband Richard of Bowie, Md. and Jeanmaire Remes of Hagerstown, Md.; son, Robert Holland of Ocala, Fla.; brother, Keith Holland and wife MaryEllen of Broadalbin, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Service & Visitation: A memorial service will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday,Aug. 22, 2018 at Oak Park Retirement Living and at 7 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Tucker officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Inurnment service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018 at Salisbury VA National Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the U.S. Navy and the Rowan County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
