Glen ELLSWORTH Obituary
1934 – 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Glen Ellsworth, 88, on June 8, 2023. He was born at home in Spokane to Frank Ellsworth and Margaret Patterson, joining a sister, Peggy. Two more sisters, Fran and Cherie, and a brother, Michael, completed the family. Glen attended Spokane schools and graduated from SCC in aviation mechanics. During the waning year of the Korean War, he proudly served there as a “Dirt Sailor” aka Navy Seabee. While he had a number of jobs as a young man, aviation was his favorite throughout his long life. A 29-year career followed in the elevator trade as a local rep and inspector. Everyone who knew him described him as able to fix, build, or invent anything. His favorite activities were skiing, sailing and power boating, liberal politics, and RV travel, but his all-time passion was piloting his own plane. Family and friends cherish gifts of his prize-winning wood sculptures. Glen was a very loving, devoted, and dependable person who was always the one to go to when someone needed something done. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Fran; his daughter, Robin; and son, Ken. Surviving is his wife of nearly 50 years, Carol; his son, David Ellsworth (April); daughters, Wendy Nelson (Tony), Wendy Bloch (Vaiden), and Shannon Nelson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. A private memorial will be held at the family home on September 9, at 2:00 P.M.
