QUEENSBURY – Wesley Martin, 93, peacefully passed Saturday, January 16, 2021 in his Queensbury home surrounded by his family. He was born in 1927 to Allen and Sarah (DeVoe) Martin.
Wesley’s military service began soon after high school with the US Army National Guard. From there he was a Sergeant in the US Army in Germany during WWII. Later, he served in the US Navy Seabees in Korea during the war.
He met the love of his life, Margaret and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage together.
For 38 years, he travelled the country as general foreman for a national construction corp. From building power plants and dams to bridges and highways all around the country from TX to VA and New England.
Wes loved to spend time with his family, friends, and his faithful dogs. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting. Trips to Maine, keeping the yard, pool and home in order kept him busy in retirement.
Wesley is survived by his beloved wife Margaret; son Randy (Lisa) Martin; granddaughter, Bianca; sister-in-law Diane; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents and a brother, Robert Martin.
Services for the family will be planned for later in 2021 when Covid-19 restrictions are eased.
