Final Salute

TORRINGTON – Robert “Bob” P. Pirotta, 92, of Torrington, peacefully passed surrounded by family on March 23, 2022.

Born in Torrington, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Pirotta. Bob served in the Navy Seabees and was active in the Winsted VFW. He was employed by O&G. After retiring, he continued to drive trucks, plow snow, and mow lawns for years.

Bob enjoyed his friends and the time he spent with them, especially his weekly lunch and card games. He lived life to the fullest, following the “work hard, play hard” motto.

He is survived by his partner of 28 years, Antoinette Vosburgh, and his brother, Joseph Pirotta. He leaves his children, Anita Vedovelli and husband Burt, Robert Pirotta and wife Patricia, Laurie Colgan, Marianne Pirotta, Jaclyn Breakell, and Raymond Pirotta and wife Monica. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, April 16, at 10 a.m. at the New St. Francis Cemetery, 863 S. Main St., Torrington. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
