Fort Worth, Texas – Al Goosens, 96, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026.

Rosary: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday , March 11, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church with visitation following.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 6150 Pershing Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76107.

Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers Al requested that donations be made to Catholic Charities of Fort Worth, P.O. Box 15610, Fort Worth, TX 76119.

Al was born at home on August 28, 1929 in Lawrence, MA, to the late Albert L. and Blanche Y. Goossens. He was a veteran of 26 years in the U.S. Navy SEABEES and served 2 tours in DaNang, VietNam from 1965 to 1967. He retired from the U.S. Navy with the rank of Master Chief Constructionman (MCPO).

After his military retirement he made his home in Fort Worth and was employed as a construction estimator and project manager with local general contractors. He was active in various ministries at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Stella, his son, Arthur, brother, Robert, and sister, Clair, both of Salem, NH.

Survivors: Daughters, Jeanne M. Fix (Robert), Anne D. Johns, Mary M. Goosens; son, Donald A. Goosens (Cynthia); four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Goossens of Mount Airy, N.C.; and numerous relatives and friends.
