Final Salute

John H. “Jack” Baughman, 81, of Oxford, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, peacefully in the comforting presence of his loved ones.

Born on May 4, 1944, in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, John was the beloved son of John H. Baughman and Mary (Smith) Baughman.

Jack proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Seabee, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. His time in the Navy instilled in him a sense of duty and camaraderie, values that he carried forward into his civilian life.

After his honorable service, Jack became the owner and operator of Jack’s Plumbing and Heating in Oxford, a business he led with integrity and dedication for 39 years. Through his work, Jack not only provided a livelihood for his family but also became a trusted and respected member of the community. His reputation for fairness and reliability left a lasting impression on the many lives he touched.

For 50 years, Jack was a proud member of the Oxford Masonic Lodge. He also dedicated many years as a volunteer with the Oxford Golden Bears, where his generosity and enthusiasm inspired those around him.

Jack was a man of varied interests, always eager to learn and share his knowledge. He was particularly passionate about American history, often losing himself in the pages of a good book. Yet, his greatest joy came from spending time at his cherished cabin, surrounded by nature and his loved ones. There, he found peace and happiness, relishing every moment with his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Holly, who stood by his side through every triumph and trial, and their two sons, Ray and Jason (Germaine). Jack was also a loving “Pop” to his five grandchildren, Cora, Tyler, Ian, Conner, and Cameron, each of whom he adored and cherished deeply.

Jack’s warm heart and generous spirit were evident in the way he approached life and others. He had an innate ability to connect with people, always eager to engage in conversation and share a smile or a story. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In accordance with Jack’s wishes, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jack’s memory to the Oxford Golden Bears Football, an organization close to his heart.

May he rest in eternal peace, forever cherished in our hearts and memories.
