EO Rachel Renae Helvie

EO

Date of birth 06/16/1991
Date of passing 09/22/2025

Rachel (Burke) Padilla, born June 16, 1991, passed away the morning of September 22, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Spahn. She is survived by her mother, Susan Spahn, niece, Brooke Spahn and the love of her life & soulmate Jesse Padilla, maternal grandmother, aunts & cousins.

Rachel was a wild spirit that made her own rules and paved her own path. She served as a heavy equipment operator for the U.S. Navy Seabees from 2010-2015. She recently earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Southern Mississippi while battling cancer. She had a gentle but stubborn way about her. Rachel didn’t meet strangers; she met new friends. Her openness and honesty brought people from all walks of life together in friendships that will last a lifetime.

While Rachel didn’t have children of her own, she loved her friend’s children fiercely. Her love of and kindness towards people was outmatched only by her love of nature. As her loved ones mourn this great loss, they are thankful for their lives being touched by such a beautiful soul, one who made the world a better place simply by being a great friend.

A visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service with Military Honors being presented at The Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. Biloxi, in West Jackson County.
