Mr. Bruce C. Zulauf

Bruce C. Zulauf, 77, of Jacksonville, Illinois, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, June 11, 2026, surrounded by his family.

He was born September 20, 1948, in Jacksonville, the son of Wilbur and Wanda (Spurlock) Zulauf. Bruce married Barbara Ann Dixon on December 22, 1968, in Concord, and she survives.

He is also survived by his twin daughters, Cherie (Mike) Eykamp of Dixon and Carrie Conner of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Kendra (Brian) True, Colleen (Seth) Nelson, Amber (Kyle) Wilkinson, Bruce (Ashley) Wilkinson, and Teresa Eykamp (Chance Hubbard); seven great grandchildren; and sister, Judy (Gene) Hannu. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Chris Zuluaf.

Bruce graduated from Triopia High School in 1966. He served in Vietnam in 1968-1969 with the Navy Construction Battalion, better known as the Seabees. He worked for Operating Engineers Local 965 in Springfield and was a lifetime member. He also owned a heavy equipment and tile drainage business. After retirement, he went on to be road commissioner for Scott County Road District 6. Bruce was a longtime member of Meredosia First Baptist Church and also attended and served at Camp Zion Myrtle Ms since 1981.

He enjoyed working and was always ready to help anyone who would ask. Bruce had a servant’s heart and loved the Lord. He also loved his family and love spending time with them.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Concord Cemetery to follow. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Meredosia First Baptist Church or Camp Zion in Myrtle, MS, a Bible/Church Camp. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements.
