Mr. Delbert Edward Carrick, 97 of Zephyrhills, Florida and Lewiston, Michigan took his final trip around the sun on November 6, 2023. He was born in Flint, Michigan on May 3, 1926, to the late Corbin and Margaret (Sharp) Carrick. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a Seabee. Delbert was a member of the Dade City Gun Club where he practiced twice a week. He loved country music and attended concerts in the park every Sunday. He raised horses and grew strawberries at his home in Michigan and planted orange trees at his home in Florida. He was an excellent golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing on Little Bear Lake. He could fix anything. He was very sociable and shared meals with friends weekly, some traveling a distance just for his company. He enjoyed trips to the casino in both Florida and Michigan and hosted family reunions and Thanksgiving each year. His walls were full of portraits of his loved ones who meant the most to him. Ed valued his family. He is and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna (Duke) Graessle of Fort Myers, Florida; daughter-in-law, Shirley Carrick of Flint; grandchildren, Charles (Heather) O’Dell of Fort Myers, Florida; Heather (Matt) Zielke of Clarkston; and great-grandchildren, Graham and Gavin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Corbin and Margaret Carrick; wife, Louise; and son, David.

Funeral services for Mr. Carrick will take place at 12:00 PM on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Green Funeral Home, Lewiston. Interment will follow services at Albert Township Cemetery where Delbert will be laid to rest.
