Final Salute

CORBIN – Frank Glenn Corbin, age 83 of Lawrenceville, GA passed away, Thursday, April 9, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 13, 2026, with Rastus Franklin officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a Seabee, completing two overseas tours with honor. Following his military service, he spent several years working in the construction business before transitioning to a career as a Building Inspector for Gwinnett County, where he worked for 15 years. Outside of work, his life was defined by his passions and his community. A fixture on the sidelines, he coached softball in Lawrenceville for many years, mentoring countless young athletes. When he wasn’t on the field, he could be found tending to his garden, casting a line at his favorite fishing spot, or cheering on his favorite team as a lifelong Georgia Bulldog fan. To his family, and especially to his grandchild, he was affectionately known as “Papa.” In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bethlehem Christian Academy Annual Fund in memory of Kendall Gilbreath’s “Papa.” (https://www.bethlehemchristianacademy.org/support-bca/bcaimpactfund) He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Margaret “Becky” (Murphy) Corbin; parents, Nellie Lou (Benson) and Victor Hugo Corbin; brother, Vic Corbin; best friends, Bobby Gunter, Glendon and Patsy Flower. Frank is survived by his daughter, Dawn (Brian) Gilbreath; his favorite grandchild, Kendall Gilbreath; brother, Horace (Lanelle) Corbin; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rastus and Barbara Franklin.
