Fayetteville, NC – He was born August 29, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN, to parents Genevieve G. (Birge) Holmgren and Carl E. Holmgren. Frank graduated from Edison High School in 1960 and joined the United States Navy. He served proudly as a Seabee in the Navy from 1960 -1963. Frank married his first wife Sheila Hill in Minneapolis, MN, in 1964 and together they had two children, Keith and Kendra. In 1975, Frank married Carol (Schroeder) Tinkham, and he gained three more daughters; Yolanda, Rhonda and Melissa. While in Cambridge Frank became an active volunteer with the American Legion at Howard McCarty Post 290. He proudly served his local post in most all positions, as well serving at both the District and Department level. Frank was a proud member of the Color Guard at Post 290 for many years. Frank lived out his life in Fayetteville, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Holmgren, his parents Carl E. Holmgren and Genevieve G. Holmgren, siblings Carl, David and Linda. Frank is survived by his children Keith (Kimber) Holmgren, Yolanda (Kevin) Dailey, Kendra (Mike) Salmon, Rhonda (Peter) DeBartoli, Missy Golden; ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild; his brother Richard (Lynn) Holmgren, his half-sister Laurie Sager and many other close family and friends.
