Final Salute

A Funeral Mass for George Ervin Fox, Sr., age 86, of Lindale, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2026 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindale, with Father Selvaraj Sinnappan officiating. Interment will follow at Lindale City Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.

George passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on September 16, 1939, in Liberty, Texas, to the late George Fox and Ludie Rose (Pousson) Fox. He was a resident of Lindale, Texas for the past 17 years and previously a longtime resident of Bridge City, Texas.
George proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Seabee during the Vietnam War. He later worked for Texaco Oil Refinery as head foreman. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially gardening, yard work, hunting, and fishing. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed playing penny poker at church. In his spare time, he liked watching the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. George was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindale, where he was active in the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Permenter; his brother, Clifford Fox; his stepdaughter, Charlotte Marks; his sisters, Joann Suire and Margaret Fox; and his granddaughter, Skye Frederick.

George is survived by his wife of 32 years, Eve Lorraine Fox of Lindale, Texas; two sons, George Fox, Jr. of Woodville, Texas, and Dennis Fox and wife Angie of Orangefield, Texas; five stepchildren, Elaine Specht and husband David of Denton, Texas; Deanna Sahualla and husband Randy of Beaumont, Texas; Roxanne Fuentes and husband Russell of Temple, Texas; Denise Lachausse of Nederland, Texas; and Vernon Curtis Marks and wife Angela of Anna, Texas. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
The rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas with the visitation to follow from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
