Final Salute

Glenn Alan Bellingroehr, 61, Marshfield, Missouri was born December 21, 1963 to John and Bonni (Summers) Bellingroehr in Dodge City, Kansas. Glenn passed from this life for his heavenly home on November 29, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Bellingroehr and his mother-in-law and his father-in-law, Betty and Jack Cosby.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Leona; daughters, Alea Hearod (Rick) and Rebecca Jennings (Daryn Clevenger); grandchildren, Rickie Hearod (Adisyn), Robie Hearod (Haily), Randie Hearod, Llogan Jennings, Connie Williams, Betty Williams, and Lillian Evans; great grandchildren, Penelopi, Hudson, Colter, and Whitlee; his mother, Bonni Bellingroehr; brother, Heath Bellingroehr (Krista); special nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as family and friends.

From the very beginning, it was clear that Glenn had a heart meant for giving. His parents saw early on the extraordinary kindness, loyalty, honesty, and generosity that would define his entire life. Glenn was everything you hope to find in a true friend—steadfast, caring, and always ready to lend a hand.

A proud American, Glenn cherished the opportunity to follow in his Papa Elmer’s footsteps by serving in the United States Navy. He was especially proud to serve as one of the Fighting Seabees, a role that meant a great deal to him and helped shape his character and deep love for his country.

After leaving the Navy, Glenn and Leona built a life together in Marshfield, where they raised their two daughters. Glenn worked tirelessly to provide for his family, following in his father’s footsteps in construction. Over the years he built not only structures, but lifelong friendships—especially during his time as a welder. He later worked as a dock worker, hosteling freight, before finding his true calling as a truck driver.

Truck driving became one of the great joys of Glenn’s life. He was proud of the millions of miles he traveled and the countless loads of freight he safely delivered. Much of his career was spent transporting goods to and from the rail yards—a job that thrilled his grandsons and great-grandsons. Some of their favorite memories were visiting the rail yards with him or excitedly receiving the trading cards of trains and big rigs he brought home.

Glenn loved the outdoors with a passion. Hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling were among his favorite pastimes. He shared these joys with his daughters, and treasured the time spent with his brothers, son-in-law, and grandkids. Family fishing trips and golf outings were moments he held close to his heart.

He loved to sing, he loved to entertain, and he truly never met a stranger. Glenn’s presence was strong and steady, and his heart even bigger. He lived a life of service—coaching softball teams, tying fishing hooks at Girl Scout camp, pulling parade floats, ringing the Salvation Army bell, handing out snacks at family 5Ks, watching dance recitals, cheering from the stands at gymnastics meets, showing off his big rig to excited Head Start kids, and putting on unforgettable Fourth of July fireworks shows. Whatever Glenn was doing, he did it with love—and most often, with a smile.

Above all else, Glenn was a protector, a provider, and a constant. His family takes with them the greatest lesson he ever taught: he was always there. Always keeping them safe. Always loving them more than anything else in this world.

Glenn leaves behind a beautiful legacy—reflected in his family and in every life he touched along the way. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the values passed down, and the countless people who were blessed to know him.

Funeral services for Glenn Alan Bellingroehr will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday December 4, 2025 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd, Springfield, Missouri, 65804.  Visitation will be held 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, Missouri.  Glenn was a Kansas City Chiefs fan and the family requests that attendees of the visitation wear their Kansas City Chiefs gear.  In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
