Final Salute

Harlon Joe Ebrite was born on July 12, 1954. He passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, stories, friendships, and love that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Harlon was a proud United States Navy veteran and Seabee. He answered his nation’s call and enlisted in the Navy on November 16, 1974. Through his qualifying test scores, Harlon earned his place as a Seabee and proudly served part of his military time in Guam. During his service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Award before receiving an honorable discharge on January 1, 1979. Harlon was proud of his military service and loved sharing stories about his time in the Navy.

On December 10, 1988, Harlon married Marilyn Ebrite (née Ferguson) in Roff, Oklahoma. Together they built a life filled with family, hard work, and many cherished memories.

Harlon had a passion for firearms and was a proud member of the Tri-City Gun Club. Sunday breakfasts with his fellow gun club members were a special tradition he looked forward to every week. He could talk for hours about guns, his work, and his military days, and those conversations were a treasured part of knowing him.

Harlon spent much of his working life as a Commercial Glazier. He worked for The Glass Specialists and later Associated Glass, where he eventually retired. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed telling others about what he did.

Beyond his work and military service, Harlon was an animal lover, a devoted fan of the OKC Thunder, and enjoyed watching Blue Bloods. In his younger years, he found joy in woodworking and carpentry, building shelves and even creating the entertainment center in his home. He was a man who enjoyed working with his hands and taking pride in something he had built himself.

Harlon will be remembered for his stories, his strong spirit, his love of family and animals, his pride in his military service, and the many interests that made him uniquely himself.

He is survived by his two children; his wife Marilyn; his sisters, Dorita Smith and Tonnie Swartz; his beloved tuxedo cat, Fuzzy Butt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.

Harlon’s memory will live on in the stories shared, the friendships he made, the things he built, and the lives he touched throughout his years.

Rest easy, Harlon. Your watch is over, but you will not be forgotten
