Final Salute

Harry F Johnsey, 94, passed away on November 7, 2024. Born on March 8, 1930, in Montgomery, Alabama and lived in Huntsville, Alabama since 1962. He recently resided in Cabot, Arkansas with his son and family.

Harry was a quiet and complex man. But, when he had something to say, you listened. He had a brilliant mind and was a mentor to those he touched during his life.

Harry served in the Navy Seabees from 1948-1952. He traveled extensively in the Navy, which explains why he seldom ventured far from home.
He was a graduate of Tennessee Tech University majoring in engineering, which lead him to exciting career opportunities, with GM, GE, TVA, and then retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2002. In the 1960s, he was part of the space program from 1962-1973; and designed an external-to-internal power supply to the Saturn B1 rocket. While at Chrysler, he designed the manufacturing plant that would expand modularly. He had many career accomplishments.

He married the love of his life, Peggy (who passed in 2018) in 1953. He was a homebody, who enjoyed working, playing golf, and piddling in the garage. He was always there to offer guidance to his family. He was loved and will be missed. He was a gentle giant.

Harry is survived by his daughter, Sherry Johnsey Weaver; his son, Timothy Johnsey, daughter-in-law, Kyoung, and his grandson, Richard Johnsey.

Harry will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Providence Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Michie, Tennessee on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 1 p.m. Harry will be transported to McPeters Funeral Home in Corinth, Mississippi on Thursday.
