Final Salute

Mr. Jimmy Kayloup Pilkington, 80 of Autryville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Durham VA Medical Center. A proud and dedicated veteran, Jimmy served with honor in the United States Navy Seabees (Naval Mobile Construction Battalions) during the Vietnam War.

No services will be held.

Mr. Pilkington was born in Johnston County to the late Hubert and Etta Mae Godwin Pilkington. He lived in Sampson County for many years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Rex Pilkington and wife, Candy; two grandchildren, Bethany Hall and husband, Garitt; and Dillon Pilkington and friend, Hannah Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Lilee Esther Hall and Adalys Scott Hall; his sister, Patricia Faye Ervin; and several nieces and nephews.
