Kenneth George Schilling, 82, passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2026, in Chehalis, Washington, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, Laura “Joey” Schilling, and youngest daughter, Sabrina.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura “Joey” Schilling; his children, Monica Marchitelli, Lisa (Kevin) Hornback, Sabrina Routon and Jason (Erica) Schilling; his cherished grandchildren, Justin, Marc, Gavin, Krystal and Saylor; his niece, Leanne (Andy) Jimenez; and extended family members and lifelong friends.

Born in Manhattan, New York, on March 21, 1944, Ken lived a life defined by service, resilience and devotion to family. He proudly served his country as a United States Navy Seabee during the Vietnam War. During his service, he survived 30 days trapped behind enemy lines and suffered significant combat wounds, experiences that reflected the courage and determination he carried throughout his life.

Ken shared nearly 50 years of marriage with the love of his life, Laura. Together they raised four children and built a family rooted in love, loyalty and hard work.

A dedicated family man, lifelong salesman and avid deep-sea fisherman, Ken found joy in family gatherings, fishing adventures, music, cooking for those he loved and creating lasting memories with his children and grandchildren.

“A man’s greatest legacy is not what he leaves behind for his family, but what he leaves within them.”
