Final Salute

LeRoy James Campbell passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 83.

LeRoy proudly served in the United States Navy as a Seabee, including two tours in Vietnam. He later worked for Stanislaus County for 31 years, retiring as a Road Supervisor.

LeRoy was married to Lynda Kay Talbert for 53 years until her passing. He was a longtime member of Geneva Presbyterian Church serving as an elder and deacon and was active in amateur radio through SARA. He enjoyed fishing, fixing just about anything, and helping others whenever he could.

In the years following Lynda’s passing, LeRoy found companionship with Deanna Edmunds, who became his longtime partner.

LeRoy is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Victor) Garcia; his daughter-in-law, Sandy Campbell; his grandchildren, Daniel Campbell, Ashley Garcia and Luke Garcia; his sister, Kathy (Bill) Shipman; and his longtime partner, Deanna Edmunds, who remained by his side until his death. He is also survived by his step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Lynda Kay Campbell, and his son, Lance Campbell.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Geneva Presbyterian Church in Modesto, California. Flowers may be sent here.
