Louie Daniel Cortez

Louie Daniel Cortez was born April 4, 1949 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Louis and Josephine Cortez. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 14, 2026 in Granbury Texas. Louie loved and served his country as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war.
” Sweet Lou” was known for his humor and love of people. He loved to laugh and celebrate life. Especially when it came to watching sports! He could be what some people called “loud”. He was just enthusiastic!
His love of Jesus, cultivated the love of a big family of alongside his best friend and love of his life, Lynn. Together, they instilled a strong faith in their home and children.
Louie is survived by his six children: Tina (Adam) Villa, Amber (Robby) Ramos, Mandy Martel, Brenton (Christian) Cortez, Spencer Cortez and Cobe Cortez. 13 grandchildren Zachary, Aaron (Teylor) and Avery Villa, Elijah, Noah and Leah Ramos, Zoe, Bristan and Kooper Martel, Brentleigh, Carsten, and Emerson Cortez and Jeston Cortez. Three great grandchildren, Myla, Cruz and Nova Villa. His brother Tony Cortez sister’s Dolores (Steve) Gammell, Sallie Samis, Kathy Cortez, Sister-in-law Gloria Cortez. Father-in-law Jeston (Brenda) Woodruff, brothers-in-law Dale (Sabrina) Woodruff, Robin (Lawana), Woodruff and Sister-in-law Christian Woodruff. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends!
Louie is proceeded in death by his parents Louis and Josephine Cortez, brothers Frank and John Cortez, granddaughter Madison Villa, son-in-law Lance Martel, mother-in-law, Rosa Woodruff and brother-in-law Pete Samis.
Celebration of life service to be held at New Seasons Ministries
3755 Acton Highway, Granbury, TX 76049 at 11 AM August 22, 2026.
