Final Salute

Martin Richard Terhune, age 81, of Inverness, FL, passed away September 19, 2026, at his home under the loving care of his family. Martin was born on April 27, 1945, in West Minster, CA to Martin Herbert and Lula Mae (Mohundro) Terhune. He was U. S. Navy, Retired serving in the Seabees. Martin moved to Citrus County in 2005. He was a member of the N.A.; Martin was deeply spiritual and he loved the outdoors in nature.

In addition to his parents, Martin was preceded in death by his wife in 2004, Caroline Terhune, two step-daughters, Juliana Hoptoit and Alene Hoptoit.

Survived by his children, Martin Terhune, II and his wife Deanna, Christina Terhune, Jay Terhune, Darcy Terhune; step-children, Julie Wilkinson and her husband Lanny Rivera, June Wolfe and her husband Ryan; grandchildren, Drew Terhune (Tyler Sirman), Bryce Terhune (Grace), Emily Steinhauer (Kyle), Kyrstein De La Cruz (Pedro), Ryan Milton (Anastasia Blanchard), Michael Terhune, Jason Schaddler, Darnel Calloway, Zayne Watson, Jordon Wolfe; 5 great grandchildren.

Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, Fl.

Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
