Rick Murray, age 66, passed away, surrounded by his family, after a brief but heroic battle with a sudden illness. He was greeted at the gates of heaven by his Lord and Savior, where he was healed and made new. Rick was born on Dec. 6, 1954, in San Diego County, to Maurice Richard and Angie Murray. At the age of 16, he and his family moved to Montana, to a ranch in the Birdseye area. This is where his love and appreciation for God’s country began and remained until his passing. Rick graduated from Helena High in 1973. The following year, he joined the Navy Seabees, where his work in the electrical industry began. He went on to work for Atlas Electric, TCME, and as a MT State electrical inspector, retiring in 2013. Rick married his high school sweetheart, Debbie Tegg, on July 3, 1975, and they had two beautiful girls together. Rick was a man of integrity who deeply loved God, his family, and his country. He loved all things outdoors- hunting, fly fishing, and camping on the Madison River. Rick is survived by his wife, Debbie, daughter, Lori (Ron) George, daughter, Jennifer (Chad) Simmons, grandchildren, Kassy, Julia, and Andrew Elliott, great grandchildren, Hylia and Talin, mother, Angie Murray, brother, Roy Murray, and sister, Cathy Montanye. He is preceded in death by his father, Maurice Richard Murray, Jr., sister, Christy (Murray) Warren, father and mother-in-law, Larry and Eunice Tegg. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Nov. 20th at 2 p.m. at his home church, Last Chance Chapel (6240 Raven Rd). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gift of Life Transplant House (Rochester, MN). “Unless a seed falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds”. John 12:24
