Final Salute

ROBERT EDWARD MORRIS, 92, of Elkview peaceably went to be with the Lord Friday August 4, 2023 at Charleston Memorial hospital with his children at his side.
He was born on May 28, 1931 in Blue Creek, WV to the late Charles and Sarah Inez Morris.
He loved telling stories of his days in the Navy and was never happier than when he was on his tractor mowing the lawn, which he was able to do past his 89th birthday. He enjoyed fishing and his family and while not always knowing how to express it, he cared greatly for each and every one.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 yrs, Obyra Jean, sister Marion June Myers and brothers Ronald, Jennings Dean and Charles “Buster” Morris.
He retired after a 30-year career with Federal Mogel Corporation. Robert was a proud veteran, having served in the US Navy and later in the Navy Seabee reserves.
He is survived by his children Debbie Khoury of Charleston and Mark Morris of Elkview; three grandchildren, Anne Marie Khoury, Elias Khoury and Joseph Khoury all of Charleston; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Khoury and Alana Leverne of Los Angeles, CA and his sister Barbara Brotherton.
He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
A service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday August 9th, 2023 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Cemetery in Big Chimney, WV.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m.- 1 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
