Roger Lee Dodson, age 78, of Sanford, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at his home, with his family by his side.

Roger served our country in both the United States Navy with the MCB 40 Seabees and United States Army during the Vietnam era with the 173rd Airborne.  He worked many years in the construction industry.  Roger loved to pick and carry-on with friends and family just to get a reaction out of them.  He made a lasting memory with Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company by constructing a “beer-can house”.  They almost featured his house in their commercials.   More than anything, he just wanted to hang out with his friends and family and make memories.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  A graveside service will be held following the gathering at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd., Spring Lake, NC 28390 at 2:00 PM.  A procession will follow to the cemetery with Final Ride Motorcycle Hearse.

Following the graveside service, the family invites everyone to the “Beer-Can House” for a time of fellowship and sharing memories of Roger.
