Final Salute

Funeral services for Russell Dennis Rhodes, 72 of Sallisaw are being held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial will follow at Blackjack Cemetery in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Mt. Rhodes was born on May 20, 1948 in Muldrow to William Russell Rhodes and Dorothy Ailene (Beller) Rhodes. He passed away on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, in Fayetteville, Ark.

He was married to Connie June Lowrimore on Feb. 3, 1972, in Muldrow.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a Seabee and retired from the Strategic National Stockpile.

Survivors are his wife, Connie Rhodes of the home; two daughters, Tanya Dotson and Jason and Shawna Rhodes both of Sallisaw; one son, Russ Rhodes of New Orleans, La; two granddaughters, Marlee Thornburg and Jensyn Rhodes; three grandsons, Jaden Pruitt, Jacob Testerman and Jace Dotson; one great-grandchild: Creeden O’Neal; his Mother, Dorothy Rhodes of Muldrow; one brother, Geary Rhodes of Redland; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Bailey Rhodes; his father, Russell Rhodes; and two brothers, Eddie and David Rhodes.

Active Pallbearers will be Eddie Edwards, Howard Edwards, Lyndon Emberton, Jason Dotson, Travis Pruitt and Jeff Thornburg.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Marlee Thornburg, Jensyn Rhodes, Jaden Pruitt, Jacob Testerman, Jace Dotson and Creeden O’Neal.

Viewing was 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The family greeted from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
