Steven Dale Gore, 69, of Belmont, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregory and Martha Gore of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Steve attended Harding High School before enlisting in the United States Army, where he proudly served as a Field Artillery Specialist from 1975 to 1978. He later continued his military service in the United States Navy Reserve as a Seabee.

Dedicated to lifelong learning and helping others succeed, Steve attended Central Piedmont Community College and later Belmont Abbey College. He devoted 21 years to Central Piedmont Community College as a Welding Technology Instructor, sharing his knowledge, skill, and passion for the trade with countless students. He also served as Chair of the Welding Department for 12 years. Throughout his career, he took great pride in teaching and mentoring others, leaving a lasting impact on many who passed through his classroom.

Steve was a faithful member of Belmont Foursquare Church, where he found strength in his faith and fellowship among his church family.

Above all, Steve loved his family. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Gore Blanton (Jeremy), and his son, Daniel Gore (Melissa); his cherished grandchildren, Michael Blanton, Kaylee Gore, Thomas Gore, Jacob Gore, and Ava Gore; his brother, Allen Gore; and his sisters, Debra Friday, Janet Boswell, and Susan Goff.

Steve will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, his commitment to education, and the kindness, wisdom, and encouragement he shared with others.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Belmont Foursquare Church.

Benson Funeral & Cremation Services of Mount Holly, North Carolina, is serving the family.

A funeral service will be held at Belmont Foursquare Church on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The church is located at 8 Elizabeth Street, Belmont, NC 28012.

Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Brittain Presbyterian Church, located at 3456 US Highway 64, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
