Mr. Robert T. Cowart, 83, of Savannah, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021. He was born in Savannah to the late Jesse and Frances Bell Cowart. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Williams, Herbert Cowart, Joel Cowart, Wesley Cowart, and June Mason. He served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves and Union Camp. He was an honorary past governor for the Loyal Order of the Moose Savannah Lodge #1550 and awarded the fellowship degree of honor on September 25, 1999. He was an avid outdoorsman spending time hunting and fishing. But his passion was community service. Survivors include his children, Catherine Johnson (Paul) and Debra McQueeney (Matt); grandchildren, Logan Johnson, Cameron Schimmel (John); great-grandchildren, Parker Schimmell and Liam Schimmell, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; also survived by his canine companion Moose who will be cared for by dear friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has named Moose International for memorial contributions, 155 South International Drive, Mooseheart, IL 60539-1118. The visitation will be from 1 until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the funeral home. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Lower Black Creek Cemetery. Minister Joanie Scarpitti will officiate the service. The pallbearers will be Danny Walker, Matt Scarpitti, Marc Scarpitti, Eddie Bruner, Rod Winters, Paul Johnson, John Schimmel, and Rennie Johnson. Thomas C.
