Culinary Specialist First Class (CS1) Regina R. Clark was killed in action on June 23, 2005 inFallujah, Iraq while serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Clark, born in Kassel, Germany, was 43 years old and lived in Centralia, Washington; she was deployed with the 30th Naval Construction Regiment out of Port Hueneme, CA. She was temporarily assigned to II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward). Clark, a Desert Storm veteran whose father and brother served in the Navy, she was called up one week after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. She spent four months on the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, and in 2003, she was sent on a six-month deployment to Kuwait. CS1 Regina R. Clark is survived by her son Kerry. She will be remembered for the contribution that she has made to her community and to her country. This scholarship was funded by generous donations to the Navy Seabee Foundation.
