About the Role
RCI Builders is hiring a Project Manager to lead commercial and multifamily projects across Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles Counties. You’ll own your projects’ financial, contractual, and schedule performance, from kickoff through close-out, and you’ll be RCI’s primary point of contact with owners, architects, and design teams. You’ll partner with your Superintendent and lead the Project Engineers on your team. If you’ve managed construction projects, budgets, and teams, including as a Civil Engineer Corps officer or Seabee leader, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Do
- Own the outcome. Deliver your projects on or before the contract completion date and at or better than the budgeted margin.
- Set the project up to win. Lead the project kickoff and set team roles, buyout strategy, milestones, and logistics.
- Manage the contract. Know the prime contract’s completion dates, notice requirements, billing terms, and close-out conditions, and raise risks to leadership early and in writing.
- Own the schedule. Own the project master schedule with your Superintendent, run weekly team updates, and deliver a monthly update to the client and RCI leadership.
- Control the money. Review job cost, approve subcontractor invoices, manage owner billing, and submit an accurate monthly Cost to Complete forecast.
- Drive change management. Run the change order process in Autodesk Construction Cloud, from change items through subcontractor and owner change orders, and manage back charges.
- Lead the client relationship. Be the owner’s and design team’s trusted point of contact, and build the kind of relationship that brings repeat work.
- Oversee scope, safety, and quality. Support estimating and scope writing, and keep safety and quality on track with your Superintendent.
- Develop your team. Lead, mentor, and develop the Project Engineers on your projects, including training your successor.
- Close strong. Present a post-mortem review to RCI leadership at the end of each project.
